Yuuuummmmy yummy cheese! Or...er...Fels naptha?

So making your own laundry detergent only takes like five minutes and the cost reduction is crazy!

(You’ll need a tablespoon, a container(mine is from our local dollar store), and a cheese grater )

So you’ll need

1 box baking soda ($.75 )

1/3 bar Fels Naptha ($3/bar=$1)

1/3 boxArm & hammer washing soda ($4 box=$1.33)

1 cup borax ($6 box=$.35)

Grand total $3.44

For small load or light medium load 1 TBSP

For a medium, dirtier load 2 TBSPs

For a large load 3 TBSPs

That’s over 34 large loads or 104 small loads of laundry for $3.44!

Small load cost $.03 to wash

Large load $.10 to wash

Use a cheese grater to grate the bar soap, really just takes a couple minutes, smells nice and fresh, looks like cheese lol

Put your washing soda into your container

Pour in your box of baking soda

Pour in your cup of borax

Pour in your freshly grated Fels naptha

Stir, shake, or roll around your sealed container to mix everything evenly. You’ll want to give it a little mix every couple days or so, when ever it starts to settle.

This works great in my top loading washer, I have heard that it works great in high efficiency washers, but always consult your manufacturers manual. This is a super gentle formula, but of course don’t use if you/your skin don’t like any of the ingriedents. And read your clothes label too, gotta make sure they last :)

Bonus Tip, you could add in some of the fresh scents crystals that many different companies offer.

All ingredients should be easy to find in your local store down the laundry isle, with the exception of baking soda, that will be in the baking isle...mmm cake!
