So when it comes to video games, I am totally in the dark. When my son wanted a FORTNITE cake, I was at a total loss of ideas. I didn't want to go out and spend a ton of money on trinkets to put on the cake. I certainty didn't want to order a cake. After putting it off and brainstorming I decided I would go back to a trick I use to do when my kids were very little and I was beyond flat broke. I use to buy $1 stickers at the store, then sandwich a toothpick between the sticker and a piece of paper, I would then cut the paper to either the shape of the sticker, or another shape that seemed to work. But here it was almost late, okay, it wasn't all that late, but already in my pajamas, I wasn't going to leave the house. Next best thing, my printer! I got on my Word app, came up with a design, printed it out, cut out the designs, glued them to a few pieces of paper for strength, taped them on a toothpick, and voila! Custom cake topper!

I started out by making three 9 inch round cakes and whipped up some buttercream icing....

I printed out some designs, glued them to other papers, cut them out...

Attatch the toothpicks and insert into cake. Done!

This was the night before my son's part and didn't want the paper so absorb the moisture from the cake, so I did not insert them all the way at first.

I looked in the cabinet and decided to use some Chocolate Corn Flakes as dirt to cover the bottom of the serving platter. I went threw and dumped all of my odd and end sprinkles out the top to help create the piñata feel.

Pairing it up with some fudge my husband made, table décor, other snacks, and table wear, I think it turned out well. Hope that this helps you with your cake needs!

From my home to yours, ENJOY!
