Don't let a piece of fruit intimidate you, unless your allergic. Pineapples are great, hearty, and really easy to cut your self. Here is how I do it!

Step one is wash your pineapple. I keep mine stored on its side and rotate it every so often until I cut it, to keep the juices moving around.

Step two is to cut off the bottom. A good kitchen rule is to get a knife larger (length) than the thing you are trying to cut. Always be safe and steady.

Step three is begin to cut off the skin. I am a vegetarian now, but this always reminds me of my old days cleaning fish. Not nearly as thin skin though, and no eye staring into yours haha

Step four is the finishing step. In the pictures above I showed a couple of different outcomes.

If your looking or pineapple spears, stand your pineapple up and cut in half top to bottom, and again to quarter it. Slice down the center triangle part to remove the core.

If your looking to slice your pineapple, lay your pineapple on its side and cut into desired thickness. Use your knife to go around the center and remove core, or even a cookie cutter.

If your looking to chuck or dice your pineapple, just follow either above step and then continue into smaller pieces.

Here I made all different sizes for a little fruit salad. Some things require uniform pieces, but for me, salads aren't one. I like the different textures and tastes to make it more interesting. But, to each their own! I hope you found this helpful!
